The Seahawks coaching staff in 2014 will be one of its strongest in recent years – led by Head Coach Peter Upham, NSW GRIDIRON 2012 COACH OF THE YEAR

Head Coach of the Seahawks since 2004, in 2014 Peter aims to build on last season’s efforts and in particular develop the burgeoning Colts talent into Senior football.

Peter also fills the role of DEFENSIVE CO-ORDINATOR, with schemes based on speed and aggression. Based at Shire Speed & Strength gym, he also runs the team’s strength and conditioning program and has worked with three Seahawk footballers to secure them NCAA Division 1A college football scholarships, as well as players from other states who are now attending schools in the Big 12, ACC and Big South Conference in addition to players at various Junior Colleges.

  •          Adrian Thomas (Hawaii)
  •          Blake Muir (Hawaii now transferred to RG3’s alma mater – Baylor)
  •          Sean Muir (Baylor)

These players have all graduated through the Seahawks system to play college football at the highest level – and no other club in Australia has sent this many players onto NCAA scholarships. If you want to find out how a college athlete preps and gets ready for football, then play for Coach Upham!

The 2014 OFFENSE will be run by new Offensive Co-ordinator Steve Dunne. Coach Dunne is the former Head Coach / Offensive Co-ordinator at the University of Sydney Lions where he led the team to a record 9 State Championships. As Head Coach of NSW Wolfpack he won a National Championship in 2010. His Sydney gridiron team offenses have regularly led the league in scoring and yardage and 8 of the offensive players he coached went on to represent Australia at International level.

Be part of the team! Contact us about our ROOKIE TRYOUT DAYS in APRIL in preparation for playing as part of a Sydney gridiron team in the 2014 Division 1 season.
